Gsuite for Education

“To help expand learning for everyone. Working to support education through our products, programs, and philanthropy.” — এই মূলমন্ত্র নিয়ে 2006 এর 10 অক্টোবর Google apps for your domain সার্ভিসের একটি অংশ হিসেবে Google Apps for education যাত্রা শুরু করে। পরবর্তীতে যখন সমগ্র সার্ভিসটির নাম পরিবর্তন করে Gsuite রাখা হয় সাথে সাথে এর নামও পাল্টে হয় Gsuite for education। বর্তমানে প্রায় 120 মিলিয়ন ইউজার Gsuite for education ব্যবহার করেন।

Gsuite এর সবচেয়ে বড় সুবিধা হল কোন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান যদি এর আওতায় ডোমেইন ইমেইল রেজিস্টার করা থাকে তাহলে ইউজারদের নতুন করে কোন সাইন আপ করা লাগে না বরং সে ইমেইল পাওয়ার সাথে সাথেই শিক্ষক অথবা শিক্ষার্থী হিসেবে Gsuite for education এর সাথে সম্পৃক্ত সুবিধাসমূহ ভোগ করতে পারবে। Gsuite for education এর আওতায় বর্তমানে দুটি সুবিধা বরাদ্দ আছে-

l K-12 হচ্ছে কিন্ডারগার্টেন থেকে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণীতে অধ্যয়নরত শিক্ষার্থী এবং ঐসকল প্রতিষ্ঠানে শিক্ষাদানরত শিক্ষকদের জন্য; এবং

l Higher Ed যেটা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য।

গুগোলের এই সুবিধাটি যেকোন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান ফ্রিতে নিতে পারবে। এতে প্রত্যেক ইউজার উক্ত প্রতিষ্ঠানের আওতায় একটি ডোমেইন ইমেইল পাবে। এছাড়াও গুগোল ড্রাইভে আনলিমিটেড স্টোরেজ, গুগোল মিটে ভিডিও রেকর্ডিংসহ বিভিন্ন Google Apps এ আরও অনেক বাড়তি সুবিধা পাবে যা সাধারণ ফ্রি গুগোল অ্যাকাউন্টে সম্ভব নয়। শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্তৃপক্ষ চাইলে কে কোন সার্ভিস ব্যবহার করতে পারবে তা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা যাবে। এর মধ্যে আছে-

অন্যদিকে Gsuite for Education এর Enterprise Edition এ গুগোল আরও বেশ কিছু বাড়তি সুবিধা দিচ্ছে যেমন-

যেহেতু এটি একটি শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানভিত্তিক প্রোগ্রাম, কেবল একটি প্রটিষ্ঠানের কর্তৃপক্ষ আবেদন করলেই সেই প্রতিষ্ঠানের আওতাধীন ব্যক্তিবর্গ এর সুবিধা ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন। এর জন্য প্রথমে https://gsuite.google.com/signup/edu/welcome এই অ্যাড্রেসে যেতে হবে। এরপর প্রতিষ্ঠানের ধরন (স্কুল/ইউনিভার্সিটি), ঠিকানা প্রভৃতি তথ্য পূরণ করতে হবে। পরবর্তীতে গুগোল এই সকল তথ্য যাচাই করে এর সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করলে রেজিস্ট্রেশন সম্পন্ন হবে। কর্তৃপক্ষ চাইলে edu.google.com/gsuiteenterprise অ্যাড্রেস থেকে Enterprise Edition এ আপগ্রেড করতে পারবেন।
